Goble Kennels began with one man and one extraordinary German Shepherd named Sarge. In the 1970s, Don — a proud Vietnam-era Marine — formed a life-changing bond with his first shepherd, sparking a lifelong passion for the breed and a deep respect for the partnership between dog and human.
After years of learning, mentorship, and collaboration with dedicated breeders and trainers, Goble Kennels officially came to life in 2009. Today, Don’s wife Sue, daughter Victoria, and son-in-law Ryan carry that legacy forward with the same integrity, devotion, and love that inspired it all.
What began as one bond between man and dog has grown into a family tradition — one grounded in ethical breeding, respect for nature, and a commitment to raising dogs who are as sound in mind as they are in body.

Health & Temperament First
We carefully select our breeding stock with a strong focus on genetic health, sound temperament, and the classic working structure of the East German Shepherd. The result? Confident, stable, intelligent dogs who need the right kind of home—one that offers both steady leadership and deep, devoted love. These dogs are highly sensitive and bond strongly with their people. Harsh handling or aggressive training methods will only damage their spirit. What they need is calm guidance, consistency, and a loving, respectful connection.
This is why we’re particular about where our puppies go. We take the time to get to know each family and help guide the matching process. Our goal is always to ensure a lifelong, successful placement—no Goble Kennels dog should ever end up in a shelter, and we stand by that!
Over the years, our pups have gone on to become K9s, certified therapy dogs, AKC agility titleholders—and most importantly, beloved family companions. While we celebrate every achievement, our proudest moments come from watching our dogs grow up as trusted members of their forever families. Our dogs are intelligent, steady, and devoted—and when raised with love and guidance, they are incredible with children. Many of our dogs become their kid’s best friend and fiercest protector, forming bonds that last a lifetime.
A Lifetime Commitment
When you get a puppy from us, you’re not just buying a dog—you’re joining the Goble Kennels family.
We care deeply about where our puppies go and who they go home with. That’s why we take the time to get to know each of our puppy families and help match the right pup with the right home. And it doesn’t stop there. We’re here for you for the lifetime of your dog. Questions, updates, bumps in the road—we’re just a message away.
Over the years, many of our puppy parents have become close friends. We’ve shared laughs, tears, and moments that have shaped our lives for the better. That kind of connection means everything to us, and it’s why we do what we do.
We may not have every answer, but we’ll always do our best to help. If something comes up, we’ll work with you to find the right solution—whether that’s talking through training tips, recommending a vet, or just being a listening ear.
Our dogs are family, and so are you.
